In Naha, the main street in the city center is called Kokusai Dori, literally “International Road”. It’s a shopping street of 2 kms of souvenirs and clothes shops, restaurants, local food and so on. You will find something you will like for sure
Naminoue Beach
Naminoue beach is not the most beautiful beach of the island if you have in mind some heavenly views. But we are lucky to have it in the center of Naha and it’s a popular spot in the city for foreigners and local people.
Despite the proximity to the highway in front of the beach, both the sand and the sea are very clean. You can enjoy swimming and even snorkeling.
Behind the beach, you have Naminoue Shrine that you can reach by foot.

Diving and snorkeling
You are interested about diving or snorkeling ? Don’t hesitate, do it ! This is an amazing experience that you will remember all of your life.
We don’t realize what happen under the sea before to see it, it’s another world and this is fantastic !

Mihama American Village
Even if Okinawa is a Japanese island, American army is also here since the second World War and we can feel the American influence in some places on the main island.
Among those, we have the American Village in Mihama where you can feel in America for a while: architecture, burger restaurants, big wheel, shops and so on.
You can also enjoy the view along the waterfront.
Ginowan beach
Not so far from Naha, you can find at Ginowan a beautiful beach where you can enjoy the view, swimming, snorkeling, BBQ or play beach volley !
Blue Seal & Beni-imo tart
You can’t stop in Okinawa without taste one (or a lot) ice-cream at Blue Seal. They have so many flavors and you will find one for sure you would love to try ! With the tropical heat of Okinawa, you will enjoy this freshness moment for once… or many times !
North Okinawa
Naha, in the south, is famous in Okinawa because it’s the biggest city. But if you like countryside and wild nature, you would enjoy the north of the island.
Some places are famous for their beaches and marine activities, like Nago for example.
But others are great for relaxing, natural spots, bike riding or hiking. Regarding what you like, have a look on internet or ask MyPlace’s staff, and choose what should be the best for you.
Karate or other martial arts
If you like sport and you are interested in martial arts or fight sports, you should try Karate. Okinawa is the historic birthplace. You can find some club which welcome foreigners in their dojo.
If you aren’t really interested by karate but other martial arts, you have possibilities. You can also try boxing (K1), jujitsu, judo or aikido for examples, all from Japan.
